Rincon Puerto Rico truly is a magical place that has something to offer for everyone including movie stars who have been spotted on the beaches. Even those who reside in San Juan love to spend their vacations in this small town located at the very most western point of Puerto Rico. Although expressways have been built over the last 20 years to make travel around the island easier, Rincon is still considered “off the beaten path” since you must leave the highway and travel 15 minutes farther west on a 2 lane road to reach the town.

THE BEACHES: One of the first things I noticed about Rincon is the diverse characteristics of its beaches. You have both the surfing capital of the Caribbean as well as calm lake like conditions, depending on which beach and mood you are in at the moment.
RESTAURANTS: There are quaint little restaurants all over, some on the beaches, others in the local town Plaza and others up on the hillside. Each with its own characteristics, charm and unique menu. If cooking yourself is desired, there are local supermarkets that have anything you could need or want to make your own home cooked meals. There is even a small fish market where the day’s catch can be purchased and enjoyed on the grill at your vacation home. Needless to say, the meal options are limitless.
LOCAL NIGHTLIFE: As for the nightlife, there are usually live bands and dancing at one of several places a few times a week. One place that is a must while in Rincon is enjoying a drink made in a coconut at the Villa Cofreci while enjoying a sunset on their ocean front deck. They have happy hour which perfectly corresponds to sunset.
OTHER ATTRACTIONS: Besides a stop at the Rincon EL FARO (Lighthouse) which overlooks a surfers paradise, there are local water craft for rent, horseback beach riding trips, scuba and charter fishing outings, hiking trails and local art events.
